CPC Member Comments: George Martin asked if the maintenance of town trees along streets could be added as some kind of capital budget. Peter Beardmore confirms that the DPW has a budget line for this kind of maintenance and residents should reach out to the DPW with these issues. George Martin questions is there was an estimate for the school swing replacement project. Tom Alonzo confirms the estimated amount is $170,000. Peter Beardmore questions the process that the MSBA requires for the accelerated repair program versus the core program. Peter Beardmore did reach out to the school superintendent and hopes that by the next meeting there will be a better explanation and clarity. b. Public: No public comment. • Presentation of Capital Planning Requests: Town Facilities and Parks Presentation by Facilities Director Chris Ruth and Parks and Recreation Anna Lockwood FY 2025 requests: - Town wide keying and card access for all town buildings except for schools: $185,000 o This will be cloud based. The lifespan for the hardware is 20 years and the alarm. - Engineering cost to fit out office space and file storage at the public safety building on the 2nd floor: $35,000 - Partial roof replacement at the DPW: $65,000 o Specifically, over the office portion. Currently there are water issues, but it has not started to leak into the building. - Floor repair and coating in DPW garage floor: $60,000 - TCP asbestos testing: 50,000 o This will need to be completed even if the building is torn down. - Floor replacement at the Ritter Building: $60,000 ===PAGE 2=== - Patch and paint interior of the Ritter Building: $60,000 - Stair cover at the rear access at the Ritter Building: $35,000 - Senior center parking: $150,000 o Currently there are only 9 designated parking spots. - Marshall Pond weed treatment- partial: $50,000 o Includes removal of weeds under the surface with a hydro rake. After weed removal a herbicide will be applied to prevent future growth. Originally request 256,000 for the entire pond. McNally Park survey and design work: $50,000 - Resurface basketball and tennis courts at Wallace Park: $70,000 o This project was previously listed under FY 28 but was bumped up to FY 25 The total request for FY 2025 is $1,056,000. • Discussion of Capital Planning Requests All presentations have been concluded. •Action Items for Next Meeting • Each member will complete individual rankings then discuss the rankings and get the averages. •Confirm Subsequent CPC Meetings (Date, Time and Location) • December 4 7pm – This is a tentative meeting. There needs to be additional discussion regarding the meeting location. • December 18 6pm – Discussion regarding individual ranking • December 21 6pm – Final ranking •Public Comment a.
