===PAGE 1=== Lunenburg Council on Aging Meeting Minutes Date: March 10 , 2026 CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Deb Lincoln called the meeting to order at 9: 37 a.m. PRESENT Deb Lincoln (Chairperson), Diane Nowd , Lou Franco, Elena Christopher, Susan O ’Sullivan, Ana Lockwood Excuse: Helen Balcom , Jane Rabbitt (Vice-Chair), Jim McGuigan, Cathy Beale , Jack Rabbitt GUESTS Debra Goodsell, Director, ANNOUNCEMENTS None PUBLIC COMMENT None BOARD COMMENT None MINUTES APPROVAL ===PAGE 2=== A motion was made and seconded to accept the February minutes as presented. The motion was approved unanimously. NEW BUSINESS 1. Honorary Board Members Chairperson Deb Lincoln previously introduced the idea of establishing Honorary Board Members and asked for board input. The Board members discussed consider potential criteria for such positions. A motion was made by Susan O ’Sullivan to nominate Peter Lincoln for consideration as an Honorary Board Member , Ana Lockwood seconded the motion. All in favor- unanimously. 2. Minute Taker Plaud Note device is being used to assist with recording minutes . Deb Goodsell will take notes as back up. 3. Reading Program - tabled till next meeting when Jack Rabbitt is in attendance. OLD BUSINESS 1. Financial Report Presented – reports in packets. Expenses are on track . 2. Personnel Update The Outreach position has been accepted by Melissa Sargent. Melissa is the current COA Director in Berlin and comes with a wealth of experience. 3. Caregiver Resource Connection -tabled till Cathy Beale in attendance Special Town Meeting - Article 12 o Lou Franco will meet with Selectboard Chair Caesar Nuzzolo to discuss. 4. Local Hospital Services Update The latest report indicates completion of the UMass Groton ER facility is expected in late Fall 2026. Check out webpage for latest updates 5. Lobby Furnishings Furnishings have been ordered. 6. 41A Update - tabled till next meeting when Jack Rabbitt is in attendance . COA Board Facebook Page Chairperson Deb Lincoln encouraged Board members to continue to submit content of interest for posting. 7. By-laws Feedback Selectboard Chair Caesar Nuzzolo informed the Board that the current by-laws are outdated, dating back to the initial establishment of Councils on Aging. The By-law Committee will be meeting, and it may be advisable to begin drafting new by-laws. ===PAGE 3=== DIRECTOR ’S REPORT Director Debra Goodsell presented updates on upcoming programs and events, including:  March is National Sleep Month  March 5- Education on Nutrition and Sleep  New program Moder n Canasta  Mar ch 12- Irish Step Dancers  March 13- Veteran ’s Breakfast  March 16- Community Read Brunch  March 17- Irish lunch  March 20- program called Getting a Better Night ’s Sleep  Sunday, March 22- Bingo Gift Card Frenzy  March 30 - Spring Floral Craft  April 1- Encore Trip  April starts Early Dine. Dinner at 4:30 p.m. at $5  April 8- Card Making Craft  April 10- Volunteer Appreciation  April 17- Veteran ’s Breakfast  April 22- Planning Ahead- Str ategies for paying for Long Term Care  April 27- Ask a pharmacist  April 30 Kentucky Derby  Save the Date - May 12 Pavilion Dedication Telehealth Hub  We have been notified that we have received the grant, waiting for the monies to begin.
