LUNENBURG 300TH ANNIVERSARY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES 8/31/26

Meeting called to order at 7:05
Committee Comment:
Bill said Paulette’s health is improving and she hopes to be at the next meeting.
Freedom’s Way Heritage Group at Devens will give a reimbursement of up to $5000.
Public Comment
Christine Foltz, representing the Lunenburg Cultural Council, says they have $9,000 to grant to projects 
relating to the arts. The deadline for submission is 10/15. There must be a venue and a specific cost. She 
suggested a 300th mural by Lunenburg artists such as Karen Kemp and Kate McCarron. (Where?) More

The minutes from July were approved.
Rob Foster was in attendance for discussion of 501C3 Friends group. Others who had agreed to 
participate were Rich Letarte, Dawn Gearin (after Homecoming,) Ena Thompson. Waiting to hear from 
Michelle about Colleen Shapiro.
The Pyrotecnico contract was presented and Bill will send to the Town Manager for review.
The Birthday Cake is in major disrepair. Two layers are missing. It might be possible to get a grant to fix it. 
Per Jeanne, Workers Credit Headquarters in Littleton could store it for work. Maki’s could be a possible 
donator for materials. We will take the cake from Lowell.
Yard candles will be a fundraiser.
300th coins are priced- color $5.00, copper $.80, so an expenditure of $5,600.
Banners (possibly sponsored by businesses) are 50 for $3,300. Unitil a possible sponsor for their poles. 
Restrictions on state roads?
Discussion of creations of levels of donations (e.g. angels, patrons, etc.)  for acknowledgement
Ways to attract young families - booklet with stamps for event participation, relays, field, days, partnership 
with Marshall Park activities.
