Call to Order
Meeting convened at 7:02pm. In attendance were:

Review/Approve Minutes
Minutes were unavailable for approval and will be approved at the next scheduled meeting.
Marshall Parking Lot Update
DPW Director - Jack Rodriquenz was unable to attend and provide an update this evening.
Lunenburg Junior Basketball
Corinne Scouten met with Town Manager, Kerry Speidel regarding the Lunenburg Jr Basketball
Program being a "Parks Program". This resulted from questions raised regarding the Basketball

League's use of the Town's tax id number on their checking account. Kerry asked what
"sponsor" means? When LJBL shows on their registrations or website that they are sponsored
by LJBL - what does that mean? When asked if LJBL was covered by the Town insurance, Kerry
said that no, they would not be. They would need to hold their own insurance.
The Park Commission should meet with Pete Patno to overview status of the two groups'
relationship.
Turf Fees/Usage
Mike Masciarelli has researched some local area field and facility fees. Most are very
comparable to each other. For example: Doyle Field in Leominster charges $125 per hour. This
includes a paid employee being on site for the duration of the event to take care of rubbish,
bathrooms, etc. Lighting charges are additional if used. For fields that have organizations that
are repeatedly using the field for a whole season, long-term contracted rates can be negotiated
(volume usage). Our current published fee is $100 per 90 minute session. Discussion regarding
increasing to $125 per hour was not met well as we cannot provide an employee to handle
trash, bathrooms, etc. Could $100 per hour be considered? Any lighting/electrical usage would
be added to the user fee.
Concession Stand Fees/Usage
Current rental fee is $50 per use. A small booster club may not even make $50 in one session.
