MJTC- No report DIRECTOR’S ITEMS: Site Plan Approval- One of the concerns that came out of the Economic Development Committee (EDC) meeting (see above), was that a change of use required site plan approval before the Planning Board. An EDC member noted that spaces under 1500 square feet usually have similar parking requirements and a change of use could be an administrative process through the Building Commissioner. This would allow small businesses to move into spac es without a 4 -6 week delay normally involved in the site plan approval process. To accomplish this would require a change to the zoning bylaw. A. Burney recommended the Board wait for the new Building Commissioner to come on board later this month befor e proceeding. A process needed to be developed which was approachable for a lay person, yet also enforceable for the Building Commissioner.
