Superintendents Report Thank you to the school committee and the school community for being so helpful as I roll around the district or my office. We had a meeting with LEAF and they are going to be opening up their grant cycle later in the Spring for donations. They are looking for innovative teaching practices that teachers want to try out in the classroom. 10. New Business Action a. Grant Amendment Proposal Dr. Sarfde reports that because we had the unexpected resignation, we would like to reallocate the funds from the Student Opportunity Act (SOA). We want to use these funds in a way that maintains the fidelity to the grants purpose. We would be focused on building the capacity of the people in the buildings now. For example, helping to plan and facilitate professional learning communities or helping design lesson plans that teachers would use in small groups, this would happen outside normal school hours. I am also looking for two positions to do some work over the summer, we’d like to offer some professional development, and more planning and digging into data that would help build the capacity of our teachers. Ms. Young makes the motion to approve the amendment for the grant, Ms. Gilman seconds the motion, all approve b. Preschool Tuition Increase Ms. Squier presents a new model for 2 day, 3 day, 4 day, and a 5 day option. We would like our afternoon to be an all-inclusive program. Mornings will stay the same, our afternoon would change to a 5 day option, along with the 2 and 3 day option. FY27 Proposed Budget Mr. McNamara shares the budget proposed for FY27, approximately $2 million more than FY26, a few key notes, health insurance on the expense side, on the salary side is going up about $1 million. The public can view this online on the school committee page, this is a level service budget. 11. Old Business Discussion a. THES Update Directive there is a memo in the folder, we could plan to rehabilitate the Turkey Hill Building, unless the out of pocket cost to the taxpayers’ of Lunenburg would be no more than 25% additional funding, then it would make fiscal sense to do a new building. . ===PAGE 3=== 1025 Massachusetts Avenue, Lunenburg, Massachusetts 01462 978 582-4100 ~ fax 978 582-4103 12.
