===OCR macOS Vision=== ===PAGE 1=== Members present: Tom Alonzo, Chairman; Phyllis Luck, Vice Chairman; Katey Adams, Michael-Ray Jeffreys Not Present: Damon McQuaid, Clerk Also Present: Heather Lemieux, Town Manager The meeting commenced at 10:06 p.m. The Board discussed the April 14" letter sent to Ms. Elizabeth Guglietti from Animal Control Officer (ACO) Comeau denying her application for a kennel license as she did not meet the ACO's requirements for fencing her 5 dogs. The Board issued discussed the letter from Town Counsel Attorney Kennefick regarding the dangerous dog order. The letter addresses the appeal process of the euthanization order of the Guglietti's dogs, Janice and Slingshot, issued by the Board. It also explains the ability to impound the dogs under the dangerous dog statute, which is typically done immediately or shortly after a complaint is made about the dog(s). One consideration is that five months have passed since the order was issued and it could be denied by the court. Another thing to consider is the cost to house and feed the dogs during the impoundment which could be costly if the appeal went on for two or three years. The Town would be responsible for the costs until the appeal process is over and if the euthanization order is stayed, the Town cannot collect reimbursement from the owners. The Board took all under advisement but took no action at this time. The meeting was adjourned at 10:30 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Clairem. Pelerson Elaine M. Peterson Executive Assistant to the Town Manager
