The town published minutes (text), minutes (text) and an agenda for this meeting. Those minutes are the record; what follows is a guide to the recording.
The short version
- ▶ 2:28:10The Select Board went through the annual town meeting warrant article by article, including most and deferring many recommendations, subject to final language from town counsel.
- ▶ 2:40:40The override and school supplement articles were delayed to the next night's meeting.
- ▶ 2:29:11The board voted unanimously to include and recommend article A.
- ▶ 3:08:30The board voted unanimously to approve a letter to the state delegation on local aid, as amended.
- ▶ 1:09:11The board approved the Lions Club car show license and toll booth application unanimously, with a rain date allowed within two weeks.
Why it matters — our reading
- The override and school supplement articles, which bear most directly on the tax bill and school funding, were not settled and will be decided at the next night's meeting.
- Public comment tied the override to staffing: a firefighters' union spokesman said three requested firefighter positions will not be funded without a whole-town override, and a student urged that special education not be cut.
Watch next
- The next night's Select Board meeting, where the override and school supplement warrant articles were delayed to.
- The April 7 deadline to send the warrant to the printer, with articles subject to final language from town counsel.

Against the town’s minutes
The town published minutes (text) for this meeting; ours were compared item by item. 6 agree, 3 caption errors resolved by the official reading, 4 substantive differences. The town’s minutes are a full record.
recording Only Article A is recorded as a vote.
town’s minutes “Motion by Vice-Chair Jeffreys to include Article B in the warrant. Seconded by Member Alonzo. Call for Vote: Five – Aye. Motion passed unanimously (5-0-0).”
The official minutes record include and recommend votes on roughly 25 further articles (B, C, E, F, H, J, K, L-M, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z, AA, BB, DD, EE, FF, GG, HH), all unanimous; ours has none. Check the video around t=8890-9640 to see whether our minutes dropped them or the votes were taken as a batch.
recording —
town’s minutes “Roll call vote: Member Tom Alonzo – Aye; Member Renee Emkey – Aye; Clerk Amanda Moore – Aye; Vice-Chair Jeffreys – Aye; Chair Nuzzolo – Aye.”
A recorded roll-call vote to enter executive session (litigation) appears only in the official minutes. Our recording may begin after it, so check the start of the video.
recording Override and school supplement articles delayed to next night's meeting.
town’s minutes “Article N – Supplement to Lunenburg Public Schools FY2026 operating budget (free cash): Inclusion and recommendation deferred pending further information on final figures.”
Official says deferred pending information and names no meeting for Articles N and O. It lists the March 19 meeting only as a department-head meeting and the next Select Board date. It treats the school override (Article JJ) as already on the warrant by citizens' petition, with the recommendation withheld. Check the video at t=9640 for what was actually said about timing.
recording Mr Jeff (chair)
town’s minutes “Members Present: Chair Caesar Nuzzolo, Vice-Chair Michael-Ray Jeffreys, Clerk Amanda Moore, Member Tom Alonzo, and Member Renee Emkey”
Ours lists "Michael Ray" and "Mr Jeff" as two people with Jeff as chair, and never names Nuzzolo. The official minutes name Nuzzolo as chair and Jeffreys (Michael-Ray) as vice-chair, so these look like one person plus a missed chair. Check who presided in the video.
3 caption errors the town’s minutes resolve
- Attendee: Tom:Tom (member)→Tom Alonzo
- Attendee: Renee:Renee (member)→Renee Emkey
- Attendee: Amanda:Amanda (member)→Amanda Moore
In one record only: 0 from the recording, 3 from the town’s minutes
- Town’s minutes only — Figure: OPEB trust article amount: “Article U – Appropriate free cash to the OPEB trust fund ($222,500)”
- Town’s minutes only — Figure: citizens' petition school override: “Article JJ – Citizens' Petition, school override ($2,099,337): Already included by operation of the petition process; recommendation withheld.”
- Town’s minutes only — Opioid settlement funds: “Opioid Settlement Funds: The Town has accumulated just over $225,000 in opioid settlement funds with no current expenditure plan.”
Compared 2026-10-06. Neither record is treated as the referee: a caption error is the same fact heard badly; a difference is for a person to check at the timestamp.
