Members Absent : None Call to Order : Meeting called to order at 6:40 p. m. Minutes Approval: Minutes were approved for September 6, 2016. Correspondence and Communications : There was no correspondence received. New Business/ Present Business Richard McGrath reported no new demolition delay requests have been received. Becky Lantry has written two letters to advise Michael Sauvageau, the building inspector, the properties at 203 West Townsend Road and 37 Burrage Road have not complied with the demolition delay plan. Both Cullen Dwyer and Becky Lantry will write letters to Jack Rodriquenz, at the Department of Public Works, to express the need for the care and maintenance of the Town Pound. Of a particular concern is the amount of traffic in that area and the use of heavy trucks and equipment. Richard McGrath will also write to Jack Rodriquenz, at the Public Works Department for the installation of a lock on the gate at the Town Pound. Cullen Dwyer suggested he will put notices on the older homes in the area for any interest in membership on the Historical Commission to fill the vacancy left by Amory Phelps. New Business/ Present Business A discussion ensued for historical markers to be placed on historical buildings in the village center district. The Boy Scouts of America have expressed interest in this project. A request for the demolition of the property at 37 Burrage Street under the six month demolition delay plan, now over two hundred fifty three days, has been received. The house has been sold, but not the barn. Voted: The demolition request for 37 Burrage Street is approved. Richard McGrath will visit this property at Burrage Street, and take photographs prior to its demolition. Demolition Delay Requests have been filed for and do not apply to the following properties: 1) 925 Chase Road demolition completed prior to a requ est for demolition delay review (not submitted to the Historical Commission). 2) 675 Reservoir Road 1957 3) 9 Electric Avenue 1957 4) 70 Oak Ridge Road 1948 The building inspector, Michael Sauvageau, will be notified demolition delay review does not apply to these properties. Richard McGrath has suggested a tour of the three cemeteries, North, South and Fish Street, would be advisable to determine their present status. New Business/ Present Business Lois Lewis will inquire from the Town Moderator, Attorney Timothy Murphy, about the Lunenburg Ledger article for the Special Town Meeting, November 28, 2016, and the vote and amendment to limit the authority of the Board of Selectmen to determine the value of the Town Hall, Ritter Building and the Primary School (the old high school) building for the listing and sale of these town buildings. Becky Lantry will inquire why the property at 925 Chase Road was demolished prior to a review by the Historical Commission. Although a demolition delay request was filed for the property at 203 West Townsend Road the house and barn have been sold. The new owner must now file another or second application to demolish the barn. Becky Lantry is preparing a notice for public dissemination to explain the demolition delay review plan for residential and commercial properties over seventy five years of age or possessing historical value. The Boy Scouts will publicize for the town residents the availability of historical plaques for older buildings. Becky Lantry will order the requested plaques. The Boy Scouts have offered to mount the plaques.
